Our Story

Joulief Therapy was founded by Maxine Lucille Josiah, a passionate advocate and lived-experience leader. Having grown up in the Kibra slums, Maxine witnessed the devastating impact of untreated mental illness on children and families, who often suffered in silence due to stigma and shame. Joulief Therapy was created to be the solution: a community-based initiative dedicated to providing accessible, holistic, and stigma-free therapy.
