Where Wellness Meets the Community
Our Story
Joulief Therapy was founded by Maxine Lucille Josiah, a passionate advocate and lived-experience leader. Having grown up in the Kibra slums, Maxine witnessed the devastating impact of untreated mental illness on children and families, who often suffered in silence due to stigma and shame. Joulief Therapy was created to be the solution: a community-based initiative dedicated to providing accessible, holistic, and stigma-free therapy.
Our Guiding Principles
Our Vision
“Mending communities, one heart at a time.”
Our Mission
To provide affordable, accessible, and holistic therapy for vulnerable populations.
What Makes Us Different
Holistic
Our approach includes the child, parent, and the entire community.
Inclusive
We provide both mental health and disability therapy under one umbrella.
Community-Based
We use schools and slum communities as our primary entry points to ensure access.
Empowering
We focus on equipping families with skills and resources, not just treating them.
